i am after some advice.on this last saturday i was traveling up the a50 at 70mph when i felt a large bang and a second or two later another.i look in my mirror and the rear air suspension had colasped.i pulled up amd worked out the banding was the axle on the chassie.i limped it of the dual carrageway and parking in a bus stop. i tried pressing the button to lift the car for off road use but no thing happenand so i turned it off. my wife rang the rac and was told the tow truck would be about 2 hours.i had a look throw the owner manual at the fuses to see if one had gone.number 28 does the abs and the sls.i removed this fuse and also 27,26.25.no of the fuses had blown so i reinstalled the fuses.i thought what the hell. it had been stopped for 10 minutse tops.i started it and the back end of the car came up to normal ride height.so the rac was cancelled and i started to make my way home. i did call at a friends house on the way who also has a td5(2002) to ask if he had any of the same problems with a reply of no. while i was their i use the offroad button again and it rose up to the off road position with no problem. i turn it off and was talking you over three quarters of an hour and the truck did not drop.their was no venting of air or movenment in height and the things has been all right since.has any one got an idear of what could of cause it.
