really need help

got a 1999 td5 defender,other day broke down,just stopped,like lack of fuel,or blocked filter,changed filter bleed it no go,pump sounding noisy,spoke to landy mate,he said change pump.did this got it back running 10 mins later stopped wont start atall.tried bleed again still no joy,any ideas,someone said perhaps crankshaft sensor?

It could be suck'n in air from some whers try an independant container of diesel with a pipe directly to your pump if it runs then check your pipe conections to your main tank .Before you fork out money out electronic gizmos.
