well after getting fed up of getting covered in "black bits" everytime I drive the disco, I decided to try some of the ebay gaitors,,, when they arrived I wondered what I had done as they didn't exactly look like a straight pull off , push on job,,, so after removing the old gaitors and gear knobs from the cab I realised it was a glue gun job,,, but all turned out not too bad and the new gaitors are apparently "Italian leather"
heres ow they look compared to old ones ..

how to capture screen

Has anyone replaced the handbrake as well I have also done the above but stuck as to how to remove and recover the handbrake. Anyone assist.?

Pikey I take it you just prise the handbrake base from the centre console, it just seemed very tight and didn't want to break clips?

Nice job there
I also just got the set of three I have done the main gear stick looks nice
What glue did you use?
Cheers

Got it completed today, thanks for the pics and advice. I managed to leave console intact and just remove old gait or also leaving gear lever handle in place. Re trimmed the wire frame and re fitted in place removal 3 mins re fit 5 and the time in the middle was waiting for glue to cure. Looks much better now.
