In addition to what has been said elsewhere, I towed a 2.5 ton boat from
Portsmouth to Norfolk with the same vehicle.
The trailer was a 4 wheel with over-run brakes. I knew it was on there but
was easily able to hit 60 mph but stuck to 50 99% of the time. It really was
a piece of cake and using low ratio made for easy manoevering at low speeds
in car parks etc.
