Have a look at the forum on http://www.clri.net/ (Club Land Rover

I am moving over next year and have been looking into this. If you
have owned the vehicle for more than 6 months before you move, you
will not have to pay Vehicle Registration Tax. If it is a hardtop with
no windows, you can register it as a commercial and pay 165 Road tax
I think. If it has windows and seats in back it will be nearer 900 as
a car (road tax is on engine size). Insurance is expensive and there
are not many companies dealing with the unusual. Check out the CLRI
forum where there are a couple of queries on this.
