The question I have is how long will we have petrol that we can afford to
pay for. You hear all these doom and gloom stories on the TV about it all
running out. Is it time to start thinking about an electrical powered land
rover?

We will have fuel for CI engines for as long as we can grow oil
bearing plants.

assuming, of course, you can spare enough plant-growing land from food
production to grow enough of 'em.

And for petrol engines, alcohol is a possibility, as well as gas from
fermented ****.

At least, so people were saying in the 1970s.
