When I re connect the battery on my 1993 defender cab tdi300 something runs up for a few seconds then stops. No key is installed an d everything is off. Any idea what?

Sounds like a pump it’s a diesel could it be some sort of electric pump. ?

Thanks mine is standard ….ive only had the Landy 12 years and still not discovered what start then cuts off ….
