rattle type of noise when reversing?

right car is currently in mondo mode due to having problems with a drone coming into play at 70mph

i noticed today when reversing i can here like a metalic rattle type of noise hard to really explain.

would this be my IRD a bit suspect? or anything i need to be looking at?

Have you checked the gearbox and IRD lube levels ?

no i have not yet will do it the weekend. i think its more IRD rattling on reverse that the gearbox

Have you checked if your diff has leaked ?
Are the mounts ok ?

More informative to drain the IRD and check for wear debris. Oil should be clean and no black/silver bits in it. Can inspect the hypoid gear which is the most likely part to fail by removeing the pinion housing.
