Rattle on startup cold?

When i start the Defender 90 from cold sometimes get a rattle that either go's away when i rev it or when i engage the clutch.

anyone know what this could be. ? serious non serious?....

does it definately go away when you rev it or is it that you just can't hear it over the engine? could be clutch release bearing if when you depress the clutch it stops

Not uncommon with diesels - some rattle more than others

To do with the clutch transferring noise from the engine when idling

Newer clutches can be worse than old ones

Rattle on startup cold?
