I have a 200 model an there is a rattle when clutch is depressed which I believe is the clutch release bearing as it stops when clutch is pressed. I'm planning to replace it but for the time being I was wondering if there is some kind of service hatch that I can get a grease gun in to slap it full of grease to temporarily solve rattle. Can anybody help? Cheers.

only thing ive found thats helped it is turn the radio up more.
Im leaving mine till it needs the whole clutch doing and do it right

Haha that's been the solution for past few weeks. I've got the lot there to do. Just finding time. Just worried about doing any unnecessary damage by leaving it.

Do you take the gearboxes apart when doing this "on your back" i would like to do mine sometime soon but can't think of a suitable way to lift it out and back in, it's a long way up to balance it on a trolley jack!

Only thing I could think was to take the transfer box, brake drum and as much as possible off and hope that made it light enough to handle.

Or

Lower the engine and gearbox to the ground or remove from vehicle (I have an engine crane) and sort it from there

Anybody any idea how much a garage would charge to change clutch, clutch plate and release bearing?? I already have the parts.

U rekon that much? Just spoke to a mate and he's just had his clutch done on his Vectra for £160 an that was including them supplying clutch. It's got to be an easier job on a big landy.
