Rapid fuel drop after 1/4 tank

Hi has anyone else noticed that after the needle gets below 1/4 tank the fuel seems to drop very quickly?

Yes, I noticed this as well, I think it must be the way the gauge has been calibrated.

Can't just suddenly start using more fuel..... or can it?

yep me old td90 and NA 110 used to do it. mind yu for a long time the 110 showed empty when full and full when empty????

Yeah, if I brim mine to the top, the needle will go right in between 3/4 and full and will not budge until the fuel has gone from the filler pipe (obviously) and will still stay there for ages, biggest drop is under 1/2 tank on mine
