I still think its electrical but, i will check the fuel pressure. Is there any forum members near me that has a fault mate that could read the codes. I would obviously pay them for their time.
Regards
Alex

Do you have access to diagnostics than can give you the MAF readings?

MAF could be toast.. it may not show as a fault code but could over/under reading.

That's a good call...should have remembered that

Def sounds like a fueling issue if it's "trying" to start....but we've been here before after a fashion have we not

If the MAF is duff preventing starts. With it disconnected engine should run. That would tell him it is MAF.

Right just to update you i have changed the following fuel pump and filter, coil packs, camshaft and crankshaft sensor and still she won't fire up she back fires so it leads me to believe it is a timing issue. Has anyone got any other suggestions or some one that can help as i am out of ideas now please

Has the timing chain jumped maybe? I had an old vx once with the inline 6 and the cam chain used to jump.
One tooth and it would run but not rev, 2 teeth and it would just about start but sound like a bag of spanners, 3 teeth and it would just pop and quack but not start.
