i am thinking of selling my range rover classic, but i cant decide on a value.
its a 300 tdi auto soft dash vogue se, beluga black with soft bumpers, LSE wheels in black with almost new bfg at's (the spare is a disco steel wheel with bfg at). grey leather with a light wood trim. glass tilt/slide sunroof.
its a tidy enough car, but it does have some areas of corrosion and it needs a ns sill for its next mot in november. previous welding is a little rough but very solid.
the engine sounds well, gearbox changes as it should and the lock up works. i fitted a used viscous coupling to the transfer about 3 months ago.
prices vary on ebay from 1k to 6k/7k.
all help is greatly appreciated. although i do have a sweet tooth, in particular chocolate, i am afraid i cannot accept any values that are not in pounds sterling:)

The classic car market in 'everyday vehicles' is very buoyant & RRC's are no exception, however one golden rule applies - in order to realise top money the car needs to be both original/fully restored with photographic evidence (in the case of the latter) anything else becomes an 'also ran' & is valued accordingly. Perspective buyers will either be looking for just a daily driver/off-roader (esp. as yours is a diesel) or as a restoration project, in either case I suggest you are looking at hundreds rather than thousands.

i coul use your motor depending on what price you are looking for

as i bought a rr classic 1990 diesel today
but could make 1 good 1 from the 2
i paid 150 for mine
as i say just depends what money you have in mind

I sold mine for £1200 plus a bit extra with a stack of spares. It was a v8 mind. Needed a sill in next couple of years and two holes in boot floor. Pretty sound for a classic with good arches etc.. I cant see anything with rust getting beyond £2k. Most people havent got time to weld them up! Soft dash more desirable I know but they rusted worse than previous! :D

True. As always dear 'ole LR remained tight-lipped but allegedly used lower grade steel (again!) with the intro. of the Disco in '89. RR shells built from that period suffered the same fate.

Just based on what I saw when looking for one it sounds like it could be worth around £2k. What year is it?
