Hi guys

Wondering if someone can help me. I’ve got a 2007 Range Rover sport I’ve only had it a couple of months and I’ve noticed that the offside rear corner is significantly lower than the other 3. When I raise the suspension all corners raise up but the offside rear is still lower than the rest (although it does raise up) does anybody have any ideas or know of a independent Land Rover specialist is the Nottingham area. Thanks in advance

hi and welcome

what happens to it at different heights , does it still look low , ie at access , normal and off road

at normal height , measure from the centre of the wheel to the bottom of the wheel arch in mm plse, they should be plus or minus 12mm

front 461mm
rear 465 mm

also does it drop over night

PS, have u had the belts and oil pump cover replaced

Hi really appreciate your reply.
The near side rear is 490mm
The offside rear is about 440mm

The front are about 440 and 450mm.
It doesn’t seem to drop much overnight but everyone I raise it up all corners raise but there’s still that difference between the rear corners. The belts have been done about 10k ago don’t think the oil pump has been done. Mileage is 85k

cheers , sounds like u need it calibrating , as there all over the place, mines a D3 so share the same chassis and running gear

first thing would be to get it plugged into a code reader , many of us buy our own as they pay for themselves very quickly, the gap iid is the one that does everything , alas is £400 but a great bit of kit

the oil pump cover is extremely important to get replaced , belts are indeed 105,000 miles or 7 x years

if u set it to off road height , take the measurements then see what it’s like in the morning and take the measurements again, need to of course double check there’s no leak anywhere but sounds like suspension needs recalibraring

hope that helps a little

Thanks for your help I’ll try that tonight. Have you an idea what an independent garage would charge for re calibrating? I’ll ring round a few today today to get a quote.

There no warning lights on the dash. But the seatbelt chime has been turned off so worrying now that someone might have turned a potential warning light off
On the dash before I bought it.

no worries and always happy to help

think land rover would charge around £150 plus vat, would assume an independent garage would charge £70-80 quid , alas another reason we buy the code readers, as it allows u to do all the calibration , also turn things on and off, but the full list is in that gap iid link

garage can then make sure there’s no underlying issues before they calibrate it, ie leak, faulty height sensor , but with a good reader and a mechanic who knows what there doing can sort it out

have a look at what lights come up when u turn the ign on , warning lights like engine , gearbox etc or errors in the suspension can’t be turned off

have a ring round or ask here and maybe someone will know a local garage to u

put a pic of one of my suspension readings from the iid before i reset it all, also shows pressures etc

plse let us know how u get on

Just booked in with an independent garage in Nottingham 65+vat to recallibrate it on the 16th. Hopefully that’s all it needs and it’s not got a leak. The other 3 corners look alright when compared to each other it’s just that one. If it’s a sensor it won’t be the end of the world just hoping it isn’t anything more serious.

There’s no warning lights that come on at all. That’s what was worrying me if anyone had turned them off. But if they can’t do that then that’s reassuring.

that sounds very reasonable , get them to also check out the lights for peace of mind and give it a quick once over

also get a quote about the oil pump cover , either to check or replace , it’s well documented

always best to write out a list beforehand so u don’t forget , lol

plse let us know how it goes
