Range Rover Series II (P38) Trip Computer

On switch-on the trip computer's lower display always defaults to show a
figure (and I can't even tell you what it represents without going to the
manual!) Is there anyway of having it to show the Range display (i.e. its
estimate of the range of the fuel remaining) by default?

I think it defaults to trip mileage. AFAIK there is no way to get it to
default to anything else.
