range rover seat belt tension

Hi All

Does anyone know away to make the tension on the L322 Range Rover seat belts stronger, every time myself or any passengers get out of the car the seat belts take ages to go back into place, my passenger side belt tension is that weak it doesn't pull it all the way back in and you have to help it along before it gets trapped in the door.

Does anyone else suffer with this problem?

All seat belts I have come across the mechanism is sealed-your find clock spring has gone weak in inertia reel
 
Some you can get apart and re-tension, wouldn't like to mess with the L322 ones though as they have the explosive tensioners that fire in an accident. Got the same problem on my P38, Transit and MR2.
 
Check the panel they disappear behind isn't restricting it. mine was holding the drivers side too tight.

The pre-tensioners are on the seat belt receivers on the side of the seats, not on the actual belt.

You can get some special seat belt spray that should reduce friction - thought it was a joke when I heard of it at first, but have seen it "live" and it actually works!!

I believe Würth makes some - here in DK we can get something from Belladd

Try your local dealer - Hyundai has some I know - a friend told me some years ago...

Just tried this and WOW! it works brilliantly!! they now retract at a normal speed and as a bonus my car smells clean with the smell of polish lol!!
