Range Rover P38 Diagnostic Software

Hi.

I am looking to buy a P38 primarily for fun off road and on green lanes. Before a purchase one I would like to have in my possession diagnostic software for land rovers. I'm looking for something similar to the VAG VCDS program but for Land Rovers / Range Rovers if available. Something that will read & clear fault codes, ECU programming, adaptation, actuator tests etc. I have used VCDS extensively on all my VAG cars, which has saved me a fortune, my Touarge 5.0 V10 Tdi would have been written off due to Can-Bus fault if it wasn't for the VCDS programme.

Any advise will be appreciated.

Generic readers won’t interact much with P38, even Hawkeye won’t do few things. Nanocom is best option unless you have really deep pockets. You’ll need the one specific to your vehicle - or a unit, cables + £50 unlock code for your vehicle.

Faultmate MSV2 is a waste of money, it is locked to one vehicle only unless you pay mega bucks to have it unlocked for all vehicles. Nanocom is best as it is not locked to one VIN number and can be used on any vehicle, providing you have the correct cable and access codes.
