Hey, not quite an army but some kind of team.

Cheers guys albeit i am now going to leave it alone and let the Range Rover specialists G&D in Minety do it for me. They are collecting the car on the 18th on a truck and i will follow them there so i can discuss in detail with Greg what i have done to date so far and the full symptoms i first got when it all started to go wrong 1 week into ownership. If it were still summer outside then i would keep going but my arthritus is starting to set in again in my hands and wrists so i am admitting defeat and leaving it to the experts to resolve for me along with a few other jobs i planned to get done on her too.

Cheers to all
I think I removed, refitted the turbo without touching the engine mounting, when you take all the pipe work and the manifold heat shield off I'm sure there is enough room to do the job.You say you have checked the turbo pipes, have you taken the intercooler off and cleaned it out?

Hi, Not took it off but all the pipes were clean and clear and my mate did an intercooler sucking/blowing test and it nearly took his hand in so all seems well there thanks. I am just going to leave it alone now and let the experts sort it out.

If they cant ( which for them will be rare ) then i will simply sell it for the best price i can get for her considering i am now in to her for nearly 9k with all the new bits i have bought and fitted and she is a ultra rare Westminster TD too and a fully loaded car on a late 02 plate. She must be worth a decent price to some one who will no doubt be able to sort her out in a jiffy. I am confident though i will myself get her sorted and then be able to enjoy my dream of owning a late and rare P38.

But it could still be half full of oil especially if as you say you have a turbo problem.taking the intercooler off will also give better access.I'm Think I took the turbo off towards the front of the car.

How about two Toblerones and a trifle? Or even mintoes and meringue pie?:p;)

Think you had better get it fixed and use it or garage it for the next thirty years or you won't get your money back, I'm sure its a lovely car but as a motor trader once said to me it may be a gold plated turd but its still sh1t.:( sorry but that's reality.

I will take a look at it tomorow albeit i really have had enough of it all now so might just leave it for the garage to sort out on the 18th.

Time for a break when you've had enough. Come back in a week or two with fresh eyes.

Unfortunately with the war on diesel the oil burners are worth eff all. A 4 litre will struggle to get over a grand. Even a mint 4.6 is worth maybe £2k - £3k unless the Queen owned it and it has only done 50k miles from new. The L322 can be had for not a lot more, albeit over 100k miles.

Its off to the specialists next week for them to resolve for me.
Failing that it will be scrapped.
