Started work on my range rover this week and all seems to be going well. Have got to do some welding on the rear floor, but other than that its just servive items. The only thing i did notice is that its go two steering dampers, is this standard on range rovers or is it possibly an overfinch mod?. I am waiting for the log book to come back as the other was lost and overfinch want £150 to tell me anything about it! so said no thanks to them.

Thanks Andy:)

Assuming it's a classic since you have started welding !
No, 2 steering dampers wasn't standard and don't hold your breath waiting on any info from Overfinch
They are well known for not being interested once the original owner has parted with his cash for the conversion never mind a few owners down the line

Thanks for the reply kenny, yes she is a classic on a k plate. Had been sitting in a back garden for a year, Not too much to do though putting a new floor in the back. It hasnt gone badly but as shes in such good condition id like to be on top of everything. Engines a 200tdi done 100 thousand on the clock, i have no paperwork and have had to apply for a new log book.

This is my first Rangerover so i am in new teritory regarding the norm for them. Always stuck to defenders and discos until now. I will try to get some photos on, but im having fun trying to upload at min

Thanks Andy

I'm afraid that's not a genuine Overfinch Andy - they never made any diesel ones, only V8's
Reckon someones bought a badge from ebay and stuck it on the back
There should be a plate fixed under the bonnet giving build no. and other info if it was genuine

Thats intresting did wonder why they would bother doing a 200tdi as an overfinch. Perhaps its just a body kit on there then. Still doesnt explain the twin dampers on the steering, Its not a bodge all set up right there is the normal damper in front of the axle then one set up behind it i will take a picture tomorrow and post it on here.
