Sorry didn’t realise I had shouted I really didn’t mean to. Yes I totally get what you are saying some of that I should have perhaps investigated myself prior to picking up and I own that, my bad I should have spotted these things and not got caught up in all the things that were ace compared to previous vehicles but I didn’t, I’ll hold my hands up I reverted to a child and was blown away by the tech and shiney things, bad I know however it is what it is so I need to rectify in the best way possible. Agreed as a buyer I should have been more aware however as a dealer I feel they should really have not advertised the vehicle as having all these items if many were non functional?
Thanks for the link to the manual

You're welcome. This might also come in handy at some point, I haven't trawled through all of it but it does have RR. http://www.landroverweb.com/landrover/pdf-land-rover-manuals/
It's easy to get carried away, when you get your hands on a vehicle youve been excited about but it can land you in a world of pain. If you have a spare £50 , get the AA out to check her over ,to ensure you know all faults before taking her back. Or if you have a friendly indy , ask them to go over her with a fine tooth comb. I am serious, and when the grown ups (and holidaychicken) wake up they will confirm, anything you have ever thought of as a money pit will pale in comparison if you take this vehicle on with faults.
I will keep my fingers crossed for you, that the dealer agrees to fix it. Did you get a receipt for the warranty? I would also suggest you read the warranty, you think you have, from cover to cover, including small print. That way you can do battle knowing all the facts .
Good luck

Thank you very much gol you have been incredibly helpful I will indeed take your advice onboard and utilise it in the coming days, will let you know how I get on with the dealer. Worst case I hand her back and search elsewhere, but with more knowledge thanks in no small part to yourself and the rest of this forum.

I didn’t read your first post, get rid of it, I think you have 30 days to return it if you bought from a dealer, you may have already covered that, if it has that many faults it hasn’t been looked after in the slightest. The tapping noise could be serious but get rid and buy another after reading the what to look for thread when buying but whatever you buy will most likely cost you in repair bills but at least start from a better place than that one.

Hi all, thanks for all the advice, update: car going back to dealer, full refund. Hopefully I'll be back here with a better one in the future.

I know you're probably a bit disappointed but it's probably for the best. As HC said, there are what to look for threads (and loads of how do I fix threads) which will serve you well when looking for another one. All I can say is make sure the basics are solid, then look for the shiny toys.
If you are on a budget ( even if you're not) get the best one mechanically and electrically that you can for the money. Toys are ten a penny, engines, gearboxes and electric faults can cost you a fortune. I should know, I nearly spent more in approx 2yrs than I initially paid for the vehicle!! Although it was a few years after buying her. When you get the right one you will love it but a sound engine , etc, beats an 'adventure cam' or other toys , hands down ;) Apart from which there are lots of threads on how to add/upgrade toys which, together with the collective knowledge, can help you put into a basic solid veh, the toys you want.
So with your new found knowledge and the warm fuzzy feeling from knowing you have somewhere to get help and advice, go out and hunt down your perfect L322. We will be waiting for the pics ;)

Yes solid advice there, am looking at a newer 2007 tdv8 the weekend so will definitely pay close attention to the main areas of concern, thanks again

You might already be aware but if not - make sure you pay, at least, the deposit using a credit card - your entire purchase is the covered under the consumer credit act as long as the dealer is legit.
