The beauty of RR ownership is nothing can't be fixed, so don't feel disheartened and once it's fixed you add value.

I thought we were trying to justify the pain of ownership? We all strive to hit that sweet spot where everything works... if only for a few minutes, for me, just before I sell it! It does feel like pass the parcel, hoping you are not the one who gets the hand grenade!?

No i bought it privately and with full service history

Did you check for any gearbox service? Not include in the routine service as they were claimed to be sealed for life, about 70,000miles

As long as it was cheap enough to offset the cost of the GB & TC recon

Just smile and wave.... smile and wave. As I said in previous post, if it doesn't light up the dash, smell of burning or clatter like a bag of spanners, you might be lucky? Not such a PITA working on RR gearbox compared to a family car.... just fooking heavy for DIY enthusiast with two spoons and a halfords jack!
