Hi guys,I've came over to the range rover side for some answers, I've just bought a 2003 td6 vouge for not a lot of money with a gearbox issues,it wouldn't drive after about 3 minutes of ticking over so I dropped the sump changed the oil and the filter, the problem was that the previous person who fitted the last filter had left the old o Ring in the bottom of the pump Wich had turned round and blocked the oil flow from the filter,so now it drives fine in auto box up to 3 rd gear and will not change up but in sports box it's fine and works as it should,if any one has come across this before, any information would be greatly appreciated.

Having lost Line pressure for a few miles, and with it being an already crap box i'd say it's on borrowed time..
the motor was only driven out his driveway when it stopped after it was serviced in his drive also the hydraulic pumps have a pressure cut out on them, the box was renewed 15.000 miles ago and tbh when I pulled the the filter and the valve block there was next to no swarf , someone said you can do a gearbox reset or something

"Next to no swarf" after 15k on a new box there shouldn't be swarf.

You can reset the adaptions but it won't make any difference - Reset the transmission/ gearbox controller (with ignition off, push accelerator pedal to the floor; ignition to position 2; continue holding accelerator pedal to floor for 60s; ignition off; pedal release)
