Hi guys iam new to the site,I bought an l322 on Sunday for beer money but had a transmission issue, guy said it had a recon box and TC 15000 miles ago but developed a problem after 5 mins of ticking over that it wouldn't select any gears,so I bought it home and took of the sump,on taking out the filter I found the remains of the old filter o Ring stuck in the bottom of the pump, just in case anyone has had this issue before, also iam a mechanic plant/ hgv so I suppose that helps.cheers

Hello and welcome to LandyZone.
An L322 for beer money, that’s brave, have you had one before? Also any pics of your new ride before you start taking more bits off to see what’s going on underneath.
Tricky:)

Yep someone had put k seal because I later found out it was overheating and I also found two empty bottles behind the battery, but new engine in and running well, just the transmission problem to sort, the car body and interior wise is absolutely perfect,it was a bank of Scotland corporate most of it's life until some joker bought it at the auction and couldn't afford the upkeep Wich seems to be the case with slot of these vehicles, but the more the merrier for me.
I think I may have a problem

Hi guys, not been on for a while but I thought I would give an update on the beer money l322, to cut a very long story very short,I rebuilt the engine and transmission after 3 attempts at it,it's finally running well one week in and I've got to say iam very chuffed,I will say as someone new to the l322 it is not a motor you should go anywhere near in unless you have plenty of cash or are halfway decent with a set of spanners,so I've ended up with a decent range rover for just over a grand not including my labor, but I would like to thank the good folks on here for the help and info I've received.

Yep what a donkey ,I'm to used to sorting diggers and dumptrucks, but all in all not the worst job I've ever done,I did find removing the transfer box when putting the transmission back in a lot easier but man was it heavy

Hi guys, just a quick update on the beer money l322, took it up to Inverness today,a round trip of just under 300 miles and it drove faultless, and I was very surprised at the fuel consumption,my previous range rover was a p38 2.5 manual and was heavier than this range rover.so I'm very chuffed

Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories):
Hey gold rover,I didn't realize it was my mot history, yep the front sub frame had a good bit of rot at the factory welds,so I decided when the engine and box were out I would change it and liberally coat it in waxoil and stone guard,so I won't need to do it again,it was a pain to change even with the engine out
