allo can you help i have a range rover classic 3.9 v8 auto on a 1989 and i would like to fit a 200tdi or a 300tdi but keep the auto box could or should i say can it be done and if so what would i need, could any1 point me the right way. thanks.

200 and 300 autos are fitted to discos using the same box so if you can find a bellhousing, torque convertor and flex plate then it will be pretty easy.
But there are not many diesel autos around so you may struggle to find the specific bits.
And it will be god awfully slow!! sorry!

that will be arfull...

Stick the V8 on gas if ya want eco ,this will be very much cheaper to run than any doisel..

The valving in the V8 box is totally wrong for the diesel engines.
Either LPG it or buy an MoT failure diesel Disco with autobox & swap the lot.
