Hi, I have 1989 range rover classic axles on my trialler, I want to fit a four pin diff in the front axle, I've already put one in the back axle.

Do I need to change my axle completely to fit the diff or can I keep my current axle and change the internals?

Should I get hold of a complete 24 spline 300 tdi front axle and put my diff in it, or can I change all the internal shafts (to 24 spline ones) on my current axle to fit the four pin?

Someone suggested using a 110 tdi axle, as the CV's are stronger?

If anyone has any advice or advice please.
Thanks, Dave.

Not sure about that but the Defender top swivel pins are larger diameter than the Discovery equivalent. Got a 24 spline D110 axle under the front of my Disco.

I would get a whole 24 spline axle and swap in your 4-pin diff.

That should be plenty strong enough......assuming you are running open diffs.
