Hi Guys,

i put up on here a while ago that i have an alternator fault message every time i put the keys in and start the car. To be honest this problem has been the least of my worries so i havent looked fully into it. Well at the weekend my battery didnt have enough charge to power the starter and this morning the battery was so flat that nothing worked. Key fob, central locking, even the clock had stopped. Had to jump start her.

I thought i had left a light on or the stereo etc but i hadn't left anything. What could be causing this?

Cheers

Chris

Mine did that................and it was because the alternator was on it's way out. Interestingly mine didn't choose to die until two weeks before christmas and when i was 3 hrs from home (bless it and the rac) or if your lucky there are loose leads.

Have you not checked to see what charge the alternator is putting into your battery? Brace yourself if it is the big dog alternator although someone on here will be able to get you a good price.

Let us know if you need more help.

The alternator looks pretty new but a mechanic said it doesn't look like the genuine part.

Does anyone know of a Range Rover expert in glasgow who can fix all my problems if they take a look at it? They could be my Range Rover Jesus!
