i own a range rover 1994 p38 4.6 hse but on one drive on road a beep sounded and on my message centre it said abs fault and traction failure it says this on start up and turn off only. every thing seem ok no warning lamps and abs pump works no problem . is this just ecu having a mood

had the same, happened to me on reverse,it happened when the front wheel got on top of a small stone, then i turned her off than on again, and nothing.till that time nothing.

thanks for reply when you say you turned off then on again what did you turn off

At a guess i would say he turned the ignition on and off. Check that all your ABS sensors are pushed in correctly. And the connections are good. You may have an dirty high resistance connection to one of the sensors.
