Hi all

I have a 2002 v6 ,that i think john wayne used to own!!!!

they have had a leaking cam shaft seal which instead of sorting out they just put silicon around it to hide the leak ,then siliconed the cam cover .

my silly question is ,its the cam seal on the front of the engine ,on the right side (the little belt)

is there any way i can change the seal without taking the main timing belt off ?

yes the one that almost sits in the block where the cam comes throw

No. The pulley and belt needs removing first. Removing the belt is a 5 minute job but only if you can stop the pulleys moving so the belt isn't taking the bolt loading.
The KV6 is a doddle to work on, once you know how to get round it's little peculiarities. To see how the belts are done, see the link in my signature ;)
