Ohh bugger the wife rang me today cars just stopped.
Now says Gearbox fault. Wont do anything.

She managed to run it out of fuel. so have towed it back home, put some fuel in, and put battery on charge as she had managed to flaten that as well.

Can someone tell where on the P38 I need to bleed the fuel line, or does this self bleed. On my older landy's I had to crank the engine over with the fuel lines cracked.

if the battery has gone flat it will throw up all sorts of messages, the g/box one is a common one.

They're self bleeding through the in-tank pump and the leak off pipe system. Thats part of the reason they give so much trouble when the leak off pipes leak, air gets in and they take a bit of cranking to self bleed again every time you start.

believe it or not it will help if the engine is cold when you go to restart after running out.

On the other hand cracking off the injector pipes won't do any harm but its just unnecessary and you get diesel everywhere.

Just a thought on the gearbox fault. You mentioned towing it, did you follow the manual and insert a fuse into slot 11 in the underseat fusebox to put the transfer box into neutral?

Is that just on a auto cause i've towed my manual loads and never done this opp's

sorry to but in i'm sure you'll have no probs in restarting it.

Hi yes did put the fuse in no11 before towing, that was one reason I dropped everything at work before some sod tried doing it not knowing.
She stopped right on a road that was a being resufaced that morning.

After 2 batteries and a lot of cranking plus 10ltrs of fuel in the tank it fired up.

For ref the gearbox fault came on cos the engine cut out whilst still in drive, I reckon it thought the oil pressure system was faulty, not that it didnt have any juice to make it go.
