I have had to renew the radius arm bushes on my RR P38 (well on one side) I got a set from Landrover (£30), But they seemed 2mm to wide so I got a set from Cheviot 4x4 (less than £10) but they were the same width, the guy at Cheviot says you need a special tool to compress them so they can go in, and they did not have the tool, but they would see if they could buy one as they could well be needing it in the future.
I rang my mate Paul at Blueline services, he said take them to him as he might be able to get them in, so with a little ingenuity on his behalf and an hour later the bushes where in. Then 10mins later another guy walks in who owns another garage down the road and says Range Rover bushes doddle, I've got a special tool could have done them in 20mins, if you'd asked you could have borrowed it.
Anyway without the special tool the expensive ones from Landrover would not go it as the plastic surround was to hard but the cheaper Britpart ones did go in as the plastic surround was softer. I wrecked one of the Landrover bushes in the attempt, so I cant take it back, never mind a lesson learnt.
