Radio Help please

Just bought a new radio for my discovery and there is 2 extra multiplugs one red with 2 wires, and a white one with 6 wires, i know that there is a standard 100w amp and 2 X 5" speakers in the rear door, are the wires for them? if so could some please tell me what wires are for what, Thanks for your time Ian

Boy oh boy have you opened a can of worms with this one !!!!

Ok, so you've got a Tdi 300 and want your new head unit to play through the sub-woofer in the back door?

I've been trying on & off for 6 months to get mine to work, but it doesn't want to play.

This is what I was told to try. The black & the red wires are the signal wire to the sub, you need to connect those to a phono cable doubler that has two phono plugs on the end so that you can plug them in to your head units phono output sockets - it does have them right??

On some head units you have to access a menu item to turn on the facillity but I suspect that's only for units with a dedicated sub-out socket.

Anyway good luck and let us know how you get on. Don't be toooooo disappointed - I got hold on some bookshelf speakers and they are wired in place of the rear pillar speakers and work really well.

I think the white plug is for the remote controls by the steering wheel.
I can never hear the rear door speakers in mine. The boots always full of crap and covers them up.
