Er, no.
However, I have sorted this out, but think it only applies to pre-facelift 1997-2003 .
On the S Type Jaguar and Freelander you do not need to take radio out, Just hold buttons 2 and 6 together and the serial code will be displayed starting with M and six numbers.
Open up program, Type in the 6 numbers then push number 5 on and the code will be displayed.
To close program done push the off button on the radio.
How's that ? Maybe should be put in "sticky" for future reference.

I recently bought a Land Rover Freelander 2004 and the radio says "Locked 10". I have figured out how to get it to ask for a code again (I think I held 6+Power for 10 seconds), but the code given to me by a LR dealer over the phone (from the registration) does not work. I'm guessing maybe it's not the original radio.
Serial number is M079446 (obtained by pressing 2+6)
Any help finding the unlock code greatly appreciated.
