Looked on ebay and the only ones I can find are for 1996 and onwards, will a universal one replace this?

pretty sure thats not the stock position, AFAIK it should be in the drivers wing, that hole is for the rear wash to go with yer wipe.
on one of them cheepies, cable length may be an issue.

I got me one of those stick on ones, its in the passenger side of the windscreen, seems to work fine, and nothing to rip off when Im out.

I got a rubber duck like that in the middle of my roof and that's OK.

Have you checked the extension coax is making good, clean contact at each end, and has not corroded through?

Fitting a new head tomorrow so I will take a look. If not I will see if I can mount a different aerial onto there and see if it makes a difference. Pick up a Universal one from Halfords or something :)

Im having the same problem. Only picks up radio reception on the top of a big hill!

Im looking to try and fit a cb aerial but without the big spring on the bottom. Having a hard time finding one though
