OK, so I bought ESR79 for my 2.5N/A and its not the same as the one in my LR.

It wasn't as deep as the original and the connections are different; on my old one the in/out pipes sit straight and the new one has a bend on the top pipe (passenger side). There are 2 little pipe connections at the top drivers side whereas the old one has a single connection (connected to the expansion tank) and a location for a thermoswitch.

So what rad do I have in it at the moment? Its a 1990 90, it WAS a 2.5 Petrol, but according to Craddocks this is the same part

SO does anyone want a BRAND NEW, in original box ESR79 radiator - 2.25 Petrol - H/duty, 2.5 Petrol to FA389980 without oil cooler, 2.5 N/Asp Diesel to FA389980 without oil cooler.

In the picture below I have highlighted the main differences, to be honest if these were the same I would have fit it. However since they seem quite different I would like to replace it like for like because it would appear the rad I have at the moment is a bigger rad, in my book, thats a good thing.

I was looking on the internet and came across a "V8" radiator that looks like the one I have here, have they sent me the wrong part?

If someone could help by comparing this to their rad etc it would be much appreciated.

Thanks, does yours have a fitting for a thermostat/thermoswitch, 2 straight pipe connections and one small connection for the header tank tope hose?

erm... top hose connection is bent roud to point towards the drivers side. The bottom hose fitting is straight. There is one small connection for the header tank overflow. As for a thermoswitch I couoldn't tell you, i havn't noticed one but I havn't looked. On the higher quality photographs it does look like there is a blanking plug just under the header tank overflow.

My new engine came with fitted on the thermostat housing a pipe connection for the top hose which was pointing the wrong way (twoards the passenger side) so my top hose wouldn't fit - the engine also looks as though it may have had air con or something at some point in its life, so i don't know if these are connceted? I fitted my old thermostat housing anyway to make my top house fit.

That would be right, if you look on my photo above you can see the thermoswitch just below the small outlet.

I wish these sites would put photographs on for items like this.
