They turned up mid morning to collect the faulty one and I had a text at noon saying they are on there way.
Not sure if that was to collect or deliver the replacement. I will find out when I get home shortly after 1am.

Hooray!
The replacement arrived a few moments ago...............

Its damaged :(

This time the bottom spout is squashed flat.

Back to the phone......................

Box undamaged. In fact they double boxed this one. Made me smile. The outer box just has the Britpart logo on it. Once you open it to the inner box it has a sticker with check before signing.
Im after a refund this time. Ill probably close my paddocks account as well.

I never wanted Britpart in the first place.

Proves they didn't check the part before dispatching...quite right to demand your money back, that 's a total farce.

Paddocks dont even stock them, they just take the order. They are coming direct from Britpart.
They wont have seen daylight since they left the sweat shop in India.

Quick update.........................
Had a email off Paddocks today to confirm my refund as all the tat is now back at Britpart.
Apparently they are no longer allowing britpart to send (these) parts direct from their gaff and will be doubling the risk by having them shipped to themselves before dispatch. No mention of additional quality control though so they may still arrive at your door well and truly bloxold.

I have to disagree that Paddocks service was second rate. I have had nothing but apologies and help from their staff. They sent me out replacements before they had or needed to and kept in touch by email and telephone right through the process. I even allowed them to send me out a third radiator. Yes thats three rads in all. All completely useless. The third one had similar damage on the bottom pipe but looked usable so they even offered me that one for half price as a gesture of good will. I filled it with water before accepting their offer in the back garden and low and behold it was ****ing out of a joint.
Its just a shame they sell Britpart. I think a phone call will be in order from now on to ask the make of anything I order.

Ended up getting one of those plastic and aluminium 'Champion' ones. Its in and working and the packaging was first rate with bespoke polystyrene inserts to protect the pipes and corners unlike the britpart one that just comes in a box with a few scraps of brown paper and a length of bubblewrap.

How much did the Champion cost? I'm getting some bulkhead welding done and I asked the garage where they got their parts (foot wells n stuff) and they said Britpart and sometimes YRM Solutions. I told them to buy the parts from YRM. I wouldn't trust the Britpart stuff.

Looks like the radiator has finally given up the ghost.
I was hoping for another winter out of it but it's not to be.
I've just been having a toot for a replacement and it would seem Paddocks Bearmach 2/3 is reasonable at the moment at about £115.
Or it there something I should know?

Had a strange smell off him the last few journeys. Not like the overheating smell I remember.
Anyways there was no watter inim.

I changed mine about a year ago for a Paddock one. Fitted straight in without any problems. However the Rad is light weight. The original one I took out was twice as heavy. I don't see the new Rad lasting twenty five years like the old one. I have kept the original and plan on getting it reconditioned which I should have done in the first place.

Just under £130. I havnt managed a big run in it yet but I did a five or six mile round trip in it yesterday. It seems to keep things cooler than the last one. My water temp (not block temp) didnt go above 55 degrees and that is without a fan. I binned the original fan and have an electric one with manual switch. Obviously I didnt need to switch it on at those temperatures.
It is only a twin core but as deep as the standard triple core. As its aluminium it will obviously be more efficient than the normal copper and brass one.

Paddock have not always supplied Britpart radiators. They just do at the moment. Speaking with the staff down there it seems they swap and change suppliers depending on availability and markup potential.

Got a new one from Paddocks last month, but haven't got a clue if it is Britpart or Bearmach. Judging by previous posts, I expect it to be a Britpart. Anyway, the garage fixed it in an hour and it works brilliantly.

The Britpart ones come in a box with Britpart all over it. Oh and a bit of brown paper and bubble wrap.
