Radiator Issue

Hi all
My pals 99 4.0 has a strange issue with the radiator if anyone can shed some light? Starts up, runs fine, top of rad gets hot & so does the expansion bottle but the bottom of the rad is stone cold? Could it be a blocked or shot rad or maybe a failing water pump? Whats the easiest way to eradicate & can you please point me in the direction of how to take out the rad? I have a RAVE CD before anyone states the obvious but my new all signing all dancing laptop wont upload it for some unknown reason, bloody thing
