Hi
The temp gauge on my 04 TD4 shows little increase of temp after 10 miles of driving - moves to the first mark on gauge >. Yet the cooling fan kicks in and runs for 5 mins after stopping. (Poor sad me timed it). Bled the system 4 times so far. Coolant level on the mark when cold. I gather that the stat failsafe position is open so logically the gauge should go up and down depending on driving conditions.
Possible terminal thermostat failure? Would this affect the fan? Fan sensor fail?
Any ideas?
Sorted!! Pulled the stat. u/s. replaced it with inline top hose stat. Bled again now all as should be. Lots of nice cabin heat.
