    Hello... My name is Chris
33 years old... And this is my intro to a recent purchase

I bought this 3 weeks ago..,
It was a friends old car
Missed out on it last year, but due to the new owners eye sight deteriorating
I was tipped off it was there to have before advertised again
    So...
It was last on the road end of 2010!!!
It's got 3 doors, genuine 85k on the clock, also a non sunroof model which is quite rare so I'm told...
My plan is to clean it up, put it back on the road, maybe use it or maybe sell it on...

Suppose a pic is over due around here:-

    Ok...

I fetched it back on trade plates with a dead battery and fuel light on...
Home via petrol station without turning it off

And home after a good scrub with best part of 5 years of dirt removed!!!

As you can see, for a 19 year old it scrubbed up ok for a Disco

    Inside had a good Hoover
    Even had alittle helper

Due to the time of year, I didn't fancy scrubbing seats
    Instead... I stripped them

Then chucked them in our nearly new washing machine lol

After numerous washes they went out to dry

    Refitted

Another good wash plus alittle detailing session has bought it up a treat

So after its tlc... Took it for its mot
I've got a few advisories to address but it passed!!! 8)

    Some of the history

So the plans over the next week or so

Sort 3 patches out on underside
    Wax oil underside
Fit a new dust cover on a ball joint
Repaint bumpers with textured bumper paint
Fit a couple of new springs on door locks
    Fit new water pump kit
    Retrim head lining
I've already fitted a new thermostat and bleed screw...
    Plus a Egr delete kit

Still waiting for water pump kit to arrive...

I'd love to keep it but the misses says We don't need a 4th car
We have a Orion Turbo and A3 1.8t which are just weekend toys that really don't get used as much as we'd like... And a Vectra cdti for daily duties

Not the time of year for scrubbing seats
They needed a few quick washes
    I did a couple at a time

Slacken the pulley bolts on the water pump and power steering pump before you remove the auxiliary belt ;)

Hello and welcome, your Disco looks really good.
Did you find it easy to strip the seats?

I've did trim seats for 18 months at my work place
    On paint now
Haven't trimmed seats since 2005 but there straight forward enough
Plenty of videos on YouTube that are really helpful

Marmaduke. I think you and Slammdorian should exchange pictures of your on going projects on a regular basis.
