ok got your attension..a grip and moan..does this apply to you???

i look in the mags,i look in the forums and it seems that its the defender owners who are being targeted by theiving ****ers...
the more tricked up the better...i assume for parts...

so how come..(AGAIN today!!)i keep seeing defenders with no proper security??
90,nice,tricked up,twin winches,zu alloys external cage etc...got out of it,locked door walked off..

wheres the alarm..wheres the immobiliser...steering lock.."mud" type clutch/brake lock..big fcuking dog???

again no...y???

please if you read this and it applies to you.go fit some security..cos your making the rest of our insurance go up..

p.s.if you got security dont be saying on here..i dont want to know...just hoping this may be a kick up you non security(ed) up owners..

the first thing i did when i got my defender was get an alarm, diskloc etc

The reason your insurance is going up is because of your location... it's got sod all to do with a few defenders being nicked in the midlands.

Want cheaper insurance? Flog the V8s, buy a diesel and move to the countryside.

Yeah, theres no point when you can open it with a spoon/screwdriver/beermat or anything else that fits in the slot for that matter.

And OP, FU! Rack up 500 post minimum and then start BSing.

£800 for my insurance at 17, now that is excellent considering a corsa would be a few grand. Move to a nice quiet area and put it in a garage like me or stop complaining. They're gonna rip you off with another excuse anyway. Next it will be the fact that if you hit a car, you're going to write it off that they will use to put up insurance for us.

We shouldn't have to spend a fortune protecting our stuff, they should catch the people who steal them!

Security is for your own piece of mind and insurance discounts.

An oppotunist will leave somthing alone rather than risk the hassle

Most Landy's are nicked for parts and these people will take it no matter what you got securing it other than chaining the fooker to the floor.

Who're you insured with Trewey? Mine explicitly states my insurance isn't valid if the keys are in the vehicle

oh no it dont...ways around them too..(camera,motion detector,phone.cheap sends video to you..trackers etc...)

just seems mad to me...same as i, you do it up,spend £££,personalise it .yet some dont bother to spend relatively little compared to the winches etc on any security...like the one i saw yesterday!!!!

and then same people complaining its nicked..atleast make the effort to make it hard..

yes i agree its not the owners thought its gone..its the theives..and us???? we all buy off ebay,who knows whats nicked and not???and the poloice dont seem to do bugger all,yet one cant expect them to sit guard on your pride and joy...

sorry if upseting you.this ain't aimed at you with security or think it wont happen to them as they live in the sticks....and dont tell me the insurance dont go up as more motors get nicked,,insurance companies are there to make a profit..

Save time and wire the ignition to a switch on the dash and the starter to a nice big red button. Never need keys again.

So you made the assumption that whoever owned the Landy didn't have adequate security based on what? You saw him lock it and walk away?
