Quick tips for changing head gasket

I've got the BMW 2.5 lump which I need to take the head off but I've been worried among other things about the timing chain. Anyone have any tips to make the whole process seamless and I don't mess the chain up?

cant really cock it up as the chain has coloured links on it, but personally i would change the chain and guides as well, bound to be wear in them, and then the engine is good for at least another hundred thou,tip, buy the guides etc from bmw much cheaper than landrover!!
