Just got my tank guard delivered with removable hitch :D

I have bolts to go through the chassis as I have jate rings there already, but need to get some bolts for the part that goes through the bumper...as circled..

Anyone know the correct size (width/length) of bolt needed so I can nip out at lunch time to get a couple?

Also can these be fitted without removing the bumper?

Cheers

Its ok, will be taking off the bumper tonight to have a look at what I need to the job proper.

I'd be interested to know how this fits under the landy. I've just had a close fitting bumper made for me and the chassis has been shortened so it needs fettling to attach to the bumper. But, I offered up my old tow bar to the chassis last night and it does not seem to bolt straight on. There looks like a 2 inch gap either side where a spacer or something needs to go. Old bar is not bent at all. Long winded post but.... Does this fit straight to chassis with no spacers? I've been looking at this one as Southdown ones are no longer a available.

Got it done last night - used M12 120mm bolts. :D

Quite a job for one person, as its quite heavy and awkward to handle, so ended up using a jack and some axle stands to help take the weight.

The bumper was a sod getting off too, as couldn't take it all the way off as have parking sensors and really couldn't be bother taking them all out - and then the bolts on the bumper lights snapped, so had to make up new fastnings for them....no pics as went into the night!! Not the best time to try and fit in the dark and intermitant rain....

Well done.mine was a pig to fit aswell. Well worth the effort.no trenching when offroad now and some handy recovery points.

Yeah, the recovery points are nice and handy on this one, easier to get at than the 2 Jate rings I had attached prior...

Just got to find a place in the boot to store the hitch with tow ball attached - its bigger than you think when you are trying to find a cubby for it

Mine is kept in the shed. Don't want that boncning about in the boot.
Have you installed the electric socket yet? I've put mine under the rear quarter lights - keeps it out the way ;)

I know what you mean. Mined lived in the kitchen for a couple of months until the misses kicked off. I've got my boot shelved up with 10mm ply. Stoped everything joining me in the front. I like the idea of the plug under the lights, was it much of a job?

Yep, mine is in exactly the same place - toyed with putting it on the door but thought too much work for the wire to keep bending etc so went for under the light.

Just making up a 13 pin socket extension - as cannot get one aywhere - only seem to do 7 pin extensions and the only 13 pin extension I found only used 7 core wire

Was easy to do - just need to make the hole big enough for all the wires.

Hard part for me is that I went with the new 13 pin plug, so need about 1m extension cable, and no where do them - so having to make one up myself.
