Quick EAS question

Just a quick one! Went out with the missus and the outlaws today and we took the RR, it was pretty cold with frost on the windscreen.

So I went out, started her up and got the heated windows etc on, then pressed the "down" button on the EAS to lower the car to make it easier for everyone to get in. For some reason, it wouldn't work (light wouldn't come on) so I lowered the drivers window and shut the door, still nothing.

Anyway, everyone got on board and I pressed the 'lockout' button and eventually that did light up and then everything started working.

So, my question is this - is there a minimum temperature at which the EAS will work, or was it just messing about and being typically LR-ish??

Two winters ago the EAS on my P38 started taking longer and longer to respond to anything. It got the point where I started to wonder if I had water in the system that was freezing. I drained it down, no water, but replaced the drier anyway. It turned out to be the Dutch replacement seal in the compressor that had gone hard.

What confused me at the time was that it seemed slow to drop as well as rise. Never did get to the bottom of it, it just went away with the new drier and brand new compressor.

car wont lower with door open(or inferior lights on i suspect,same crt see) or foot on brakes..must be in park or if manual hb on..

your eas sytem under car ...hardly blame it for feckin up in the sub zero..(thats one reason mine now under seats,apart from lpg tanks in the way)

lockout button???

Dogsbody - an overhaul of the compressor is on my list, but not until the summer! To be honest, it goes up and down just fine, althoguh if anything the compressor runs more frequently than I would expect/prefer. With new airbags all round, it's either leaky pipes or a worn seal in the compressor somewhere.

Zen - I know it won't go up and down with the door open, but the issue was that none of the switches were lighting up - normally you can press a switch, it lights up and when you shut the door it then actions that request. This time it wouldn't light up the switches.

Think it must've just been the cold and maybe there's a circuit that prevents operation immediately after start-up when cold to allow the battery/alternator to recuperate and get up to speed? I know if the revs drop below 750rpm (I think) it stops charging the alternator or somethig...
