Quick bonnet question

I want to paint the bulkhead of my series 3 as its in good condition but few signs of rust starting

So was going to use rust converter then red lead ten painting it

To aleatory the bonnet off to I just detach the lift at the front and pull it up at the back

Us it a pain to do should I undo the hinges from bonnet instead ???

takes 10s
remove split pin at front, stand at side, put bonnet vertical and lift straight out, lift one side out at a time if youre weak like me

Pins ah I didint know it had pins in it so that's new so do they just tap throught the middle

The prop that holds the bonnet open at the front is held on with a split pin (like a hair clip) pull that out and the prop can be disengaged. Fold bonnet back so that it is all the way back and it will just lift out of the brackets as they are open at the top.

There should be two plastic bushes left behind in the bracket that you need to not loose or it will rattle and rub when you put it back!
