question about leaf spring sus

Can you put your leaf springs over the top of your axle and would it be m.o.t passable ?

yer can, but its not straight forward, you need to cut off the old spring mountings and weld new ones on to the axle where you want them. or turn it upside down and ferk about with breathers and diff plugs. then you have to think about yer shocks and whether they will still have enough travel left in them. then there is yer uj's to consider. so a lot of work, if its height yer after why not get some extended spring hangers made?
you still have to think about the shocks and uj's but its easier than remaking yer axle

or yer could get pairofbollix springs

Or just get some bigger wheels/tyres and actually lift your diffs higher off the ground. No matter how far you lift the body the diffs'll still ground out first.

well it was x army for a few years so it has some rite big springs installed but would i benefit from parabolic springs and would big wheels put strain on my diff but if not how big can go before it gets stupid

im running wot it came with which is x army and standed so ave got a good mix .

and its a 2.25 diesel

Wot motor are you running? A Series doosul will be pretty (er, even more!) gutless with bigger wheels/tyres. But by the same token a standard Series will look a bit daft raised up on standard wheels & rims!

Your diffs would be fine...................& better than your UJs if you do lift it!

Would depend then what you want to use it for. Your top end would be lower (!) but offroad it would be fine.
