Hi Guys...

I had a engine cut-out yesterday, as i was going bait my favorite carp swim, so i give the lp pump a clout and away i went again, but now i
find it has a habit of doing this to often!:mad:

I wonder if ive nakkered the pump by useing to much cookin oil!!:eek: or is
this a normally shagged pump!:confused:
 
Contact Ming re running on veg oil, he knows everything there is to know on the subject. I think it all depends on ratio & also the fuel filter needs to be changed soon after you start using veggie as it cleans out all the gunk from the tank. Ming'll keep you right.

As long as yer dunt go over 40% it will be ok in summer ,if you want to go above that then i recommend converting it to bio but even then 60% max . . . .and no it wont effect your pump [they are renowned fer goin week, as there ****e] stoopid design, two LP pumps after the tank and before the main filter, has to hit a certain pressure then stop ,when pressure go's low starts again. . .to feed a high pressure pump. . . .any how if one go's week the other has to do twice the werk. . . . . . stoopid earthling design. . . . . . . . . . .i'm orft ta pub:( :( :(

Well earthling its only my thoughts, and wot do i know [i'm only er rockit engineer], , , , ,any doozle injun that has bleed orft injectors [td4] is prone to problims if you havn't got the lube propertys er doozle, also goin 100% yer will put a glaze on yer pistons this will fook yer injin up, but hey ho its your shout. . . . .:) :) :)
 
Bit of confusion there me thinks. Bio is a direct replacement for diesel and can be used no probs, adding veg oil to the tank does not make bio. You don't need to blend bio cos it's already been processed to remove the nasties to make it ok for dieso engines. B100 is 100% biodiesel, B90 90% biodiesel etc.
 
correct, but i'd only recommend bio bought at the pump. Home brew bio is a 'use at own risk' unless you know and trust the person brewing. If you get a bad batch of home brew and they didn't get the mix right there can be too much methanol left over which can damage seals. Bio from a reputable company ( ie from the pump) has to be a certain standard. It's had the water and crap filtered out then reacted with sodium/potassium hydroxide and methanol (makes methoxide) to remove components that cause the problems with viscosity/gumming/cold starts.
 
I thought I heard somewhere that pump bio from the big fuel chains was 90-95% ordinary mineral diesel mixed with a little bio. Something to do with them not wanting any claims for damaged engines/fuel systems. Not sure if this is true though...............
 
See what they advertise it as, if they say it's B100 then it's 100% BIO, if they say it's B10 then it will be 10% Bio and so on. You may be thinking of B90 which is 10% dieso and not 10% bio.
