Hello All, i bought a 2010 Puma 2.4XS last year. I have been busy bolting security measures on to it and am now ready to do a few upgrades. Though she passed her MOT, I have to be honest, the braking power (or lack of) scares the Hell out of me. I am running 18" Twisted alloys at the mo and wonder whether any of you wonderful people have upgraded successfully and if so what did you use? is it a caliper and disc thing, or should i go cylinder and lines? Trying to avoid spending loads on a system that is actually not that great.
TIA

Brakes should be pretty good standard. If they are scary it sounds more like something is wrong tbh. Maybe try and sort that out first.

Fair point. It seems to be the last little bit where they fade, so will start investigating that first. Thank you
If it’s just fade. Try some higher grade brake fluid after a full flush. And some upgraded pads. On my 300Tdi when I was a good I could lock the wheels up at almost 70mph and could get the front wheels hot enough they turned my white Disco 5 spoke steel rims a sort of yellow off white colour. Not saying you couldn’t get them to fade. But you had to try really hard.

, i shall do the pads and fluid first, then see if i can melt the alloys off as a road test!
