My power steering pump pulley fell off today. The three bolts undid themselves and jumped to their death!
Any one encounter this before?
Did I not tighten enough last year when I do the p gasket.
Should I have used thread lock.
My pulley slips when tighening.
Any tips on holding it still to tighten?

Small ratchet strap attached to the chassis sometimes helps. You can wrap it round few Times so it does not slip.

Or just as easy to put the three bolts in and use a screwdriver across any two
To tighten the third, it helps if the screwdriver has a square shaft,

I use loctite 272 on such things - it's just enough without resorting to 638

Not necessary if tightened up to correct torque, but if not sure won’t do any harm except to your wallet,
