Proud new expedition landy owner!

Hi all!

Having been a fan of landies for all my life, I'm finally able to say I own one, having just bought a 130 Defender 300tdi! I'm currently having it outfitted and set up for a rather serious trip - the wife and I are planning to do as we call it, "A Lap of the Map" - effectively circumnavigating the world map!

We've a lot to learn before we set off. I'm no mechanic but will need to be up to speed on the car so you can count on seeing me a lot in the forums, probably asking lots of stupid questions! There's only so much I can learn from reading the workshop manual five times and poking around under the hood...

Thanks guys. Should be a good trip - if quite a challenge. And yeah Nig - seems to be the general consensus that the 300 tdi is the way to go!

For my first dumb question - does anyone know if there's much of a market for second-hand PTOs & winches? I can't seem to find much about them or many for sale, but I'm taking the one off my motor as its a lot of weight I doubt I'll need... Heard they're valuable (to the right person)!
