I recently bought an Freelander 05 Plate Td4 Sport and was wondering if the propshaft needs oil or grease etc...?

No if everything is intact then leave well alone, the only weak point is where it attatches to the ird, when the shaft boot can fail...these can now be bought for around £20ish.....if it's not split , the everythig is good.
As an advisory i'd do a search on the forum of vcu test and vcu bearings.
Also if you need to change tyres try to keep to the same make and style and ALWAYS put the newest tyres on the rear.....or the rolling circumference of the rear tyres should always be greater than the front.....but preferably less lan 5 %.......else your diff or vcu willl go bye bye.
