Morning,

made a start of replacing my rubber doughnut on my D1,

How the arsing hell do you get the prop off ?

Undone all nuts on front and rear (up to diff) and cant get the sodding thing off

Mate of mine said jack the rear of the truck up to raise the body to release some of the stress on it

Leverage! Seriously ..

There's a spigot inside the donut end of the prop that's supposed to be a tight fit .. it's so tight that after time it corrodes very slightly and becomes an interference fit!!

Why not change to a 200 Tdi prop? I did on my 300 and it went well, till I drowned it.

I have a 200tdi pro for sale if you're interested!! ;) Brand new in July ish last year and not used since October ... sat in me shed now. Just checked, all UJ's fine and dandy, all grease points fine, slider very good, looks like new! But then when I took it off it was sprayed in oil, nipples greased and wrapped in a cloth both ends.

£50 + postage, no idea what it'd cost, I'd guess expensive 'cos of the length .. Happy to wrap for courier or LZ underground railway .. :)

probably a different problem but i couldnt get my prop off due to the slider being seazed ( my fault lack of maintenance }

done,

Thanks Paul !

Had a bush left over that I couldnt work out where it was supposed to go from the kit I bought,

But as one hasnt dropped out when I took it apart suppose it should be ok
